banana bread Delicious
Description
banana bread
Use those ripe bananas to whip up this incredibly moist and tasty banana bread, and you'll quickly see why it's Simply Recipes' most popular treat. For over a decade, this banana bread has been a fan favorite, with thousands baking it daily. What's the secret?
It's simply the best. Everything comes together in one bowl, and you can easily adjust the amount of sugar or bananas to your liking. The key to its rich flavor? Melted butter.
The beauty of this recipe lies in its simplicity—no need for a fancy mixer. A basic mixing bowl, a fork to beat the eggs, and a sturdy spoon to stir the batter are all that’s required. As for the sugar, it’s up to you. The original recipe uses one cup, but many, myself included, find 3/4 cup perfect, and some go as low as 1/2 cup with great results.
Feel free to add a cup of chopped nuts, raisins, or chocolate chips, or use muffin tins for banana nut muffins. You could even take it up a notch and turn it into chocolate banana bread.
Ingredients
Instructions
Preheat Oven
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and butter an 8x4-inch loaf pan.
Mash Bananas and Add Butter
In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth using a fork. Stir in the melted butter.
Mix in Other Ingredients
Add baking soda and salt to the mixture. Then, stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla. Finally, mix in the flour.
Bake the Bread
Pour the batter into the loaf pan and bake for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. If the outside browns too fast but the inside is still wet, tent the loaf with foil and continue baking.
Cool and Serve
Once done, let the bread cool in the pan for a few minutes. Then remove from the pan and allow it to cool completely before slicing and serving. Use a bread knife for neat slices.
